Tiger Safari

Martin Park Nature Center

Route 66 Park

Lake Overholser is home to Oklahoma City's newest sensational recreational hot spot, Route 66 Park, on the west side of the lake at 9901 NW 23. Park features include:
  • The Parks and Recreation Department's largest playground
  • Cyrus Avery Observation Tower (three stories tall)
  • Route 66 Plaza
  • Small amphitheatre (accommodates 80 - 100 people seated)
  • Approximately one mile of winding walking trails
  • Three ponds containing wetland boardwalks, bridges, plantings and interpretive signage
  • Covered picnic pavilion
A stamped map depicting the historic Mother Road's route from Chicago to Santa Monica is featured in the park's Route 66 Plaza. Thirty-four landmarks from Lincoln's birthplace in Springfield to the Harvey House in Barstow, California are featured along the eight-state map.
