Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity is part of a worldwide, nonprofit, non-denominational Christian housing ministry which provides zero-interest mortgage loans to qualified hardworking limited income families. Our philosophy is a hand up, not a handout, says board chairman Ann Felton. Habitat offers a true partnership arrangement by which families in the limited income ranges can attain their goal of home ownership.

For over a decade, volunteer groups have been cleaning up Oklahoma's "front yard" as part of the Adopt–A–Highway (AAH) Program. The program, which began as part of an anti–litter campaign in the summer of 1987, is aimed at improving the appearance of Oklahoma roadsides and reducing our $3.3 million annual cost of picking up litter on the highway system.

Food is life. Just as all human beings have a right to life, which is inherent and sacred, they also have a right to food - the fuel of life. A just and merciful society is morally obligated to ensure that all of its members are fed. When some among us go hungry, regardless of the cause, their suffering is a stain on the fabric of our community.

Volunteers are an integral part of City Rescue Mission. Each year, more than 300 people provide valuable support for our staff and residents. Together with the commitment of our volunteers' time and talents, we are able to provide high-quality programs and services to meet the unique needs of an ever-increasing number of homeless guests. As responsible stewards of our financial resources, we covet the opportunity to bring more and more volunteer individuals, families and groups into our ministry family.
